4.4.10 South Holston River Fly Fishing

After breakfast and an Easter morning with the kids I decided to get in a eve. float on the soho. After a few phone calls to fill an empty seat in the boat I had NO takers! WOW did they miss a great day on the water.  I put the boat in and started off with fish rising.  I guess I was enjoying the 70+ degree day and scenery more than fishing when I happened upon a wade fisherman. He ask what I was catching them on, I thought to myself, Well nothing really I just been floating down! LOL So once I got to the next run I started fishing a little harder. Fishing an area of water most people pass up I was alternating between a nymph only and dry only rid. Fish were coming to hand quite regular. I eased on down trying to fish spots that  like others I dont fish as much and it was working everwhere I stopped I would catch fish.  I would boat a fish or two and move on. Once the sun set and I had boated many good fish I decided to call it a day. With a phone call Mr jack prater came with my old truck and After a wonderful day on the water solo I headed home.  Here are a few pics ENJOY.   Dont be afraid to let your guide know what kind of trip you want.  Some of the trips where people seek out less pressured fish or areas can make for a wonderful experience! Take care,             Guide Kevin Lowe
